So I pump the one tyre to 50 psi so the edge can't touch the ground any more, right?

I have identified a similar problem.
My tyres are showing uneven wear as follows:-
Front N/S 3mm with significant outside shoulder wear
Front O/S 4mm no significant shoulder wear
Rear both 5mm.
This after 32k miles

The car does pull to left slightly requiring gentle right input to steering. (Interestingly, on 2000 mile tour of continent last summer this trait disappeared due to driving on other side of road, camber?). 4w tracking checked twice with no significant variances. I've mentioned this on every service/Mot in case suspension bush at fault. Nothing found.
Tyre pressures are all ok and have TPMS so constantly monitored.

New tyres due so will make sure rotated this time. Andy

I would be happy with 32K from a set of tyres on one of these especially if not rotated (front to back same side if directional tyres). Thumbs Up FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

In the 60s, during my military career, I drove for 3 years on the continent in an English 'set up' car.
I haven't heard of the problem since, but at the time, we had to have our suspension rebushed and realigned to make it easier to drive on the opposing camber. Bear in mind that this was before power steering, and with cruder suspension systems.
This was normally done free of charge by the main dealers on 'imported' cars, otherwise the continual pull on the steering was very tiring.

I have owned two freelander 2's and both have worn the rear tyres on the outer edge with a slight step. You can feel it by rubbing your hand round the tyre in both directions. I have had the laser 4 wheel alignment done and this failed to show any problems. The step is small but leads to some tyre noise. This has happened om 3 different tyre types. Anybody had similar problems?. (Hope this question is not seen to be high jacking this thread).

Having seen the Original Contis wear very quickly on outside edge
on replacment I opted for Michelin these appear to be weraing also
so I went off for Hunter 4 wheel alignment today
result
it is as spot on as the day it was sold, their words we could only make it worse by touching anything.
I do not drive fast or corner fast
so it appears I am stuck with this issue on the vehicle.

does anyone else notice faster wear on the Front tyres?

All our freelanders have done this to varying degrees - inherent in the design of the vehicle I think. Jules
