Like many people I have the annoying problem that my glove box needs a good slam to close and often pops open all on its own.

The handle mechanism seems a bit floppy as the handle looks like it is constantly half pulled so doesn't sit flush with the rest of the glove box.

I know how to remove the glove box door but can't for the life of me see how to take the door apart to work on the mechanism. There's only 1 screw on the side visible. It looks like the it's in 2 parts and is glued or stuck together so I don't want to force it open only to find I can't get it back together!

Remove 3 torx fixings at rear of glovebox.....





Pull handle out from front.....

Aha! I began to remove those screws but it looked like the mechanism was going to come loose inside the lid so stopped. Cheers Learned to drive in 2011.

Job done. Glove box working as it always should have. Bent the clip up a few mm and also found that the spring in the handle wasn't seated so it wasn't closing fully.
