Diesel spesifications

Hi.

I'm new in this forum and we have a 2008 SE SD4 engine with 150 hp.

Is it anybody who can tell me whats the difference between the diesel engines on 2,2 L?

Thanks a lot Smile

I think the FL2 diesels are all the same engine is it not just the fact some are given more output by adjusting the settings within the car engine settings (computer etc). FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current

I believe the SD4 has a different turbo. Possibly injectors too.

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

2008 will be a TD4 160 bhp engine.

The change to TD4 150 bhp or SD4 190 bhp came with 2011 Model Year which went on sale in September 2010.

All the 2,2 diesel engines were basically the same with different chips/turbos. In the UK DPF wasn't fitted to engines before 2011MY but it was in some European markets.

the hse up to 2009 at least, are 160bhp I believe. and I might be wrong ,but I believe when you have switched cruise control off, then back on, the ecu increases the bhp to get back to set speed, or was that just the discovery 2?

In UK market

2006 - late 2010 160bhp TD4 (only some later models had DPF)
late 2010 - 2015 150bhp TD4 and 190bhp SD4 (all models had DPF)

Torque figures remained pretty much the same across all variant IIRC

The SD4 has different ECU mapping, and different turbo to the TD4 and in my opinion the SD4 is a much better set up.

Different markets offered different specifications, even for the same model (HSE in UK is not the same spec as HSE in Malaysia for example) so the European models may differ slightly to UK models.

There may be other differences and Im sure some of the more knowledgeable members will correct/add to the above at some point

I think the 160 HP engine has no DPF and the 150 Hp diesel engine does have a the Diesel Particulate Filter. Freelander 2 HSE. Santorini Black. Roof Rack, Running Board, Auto.

2007-2010 : 2,2 TD4 160 HP

late 2010-2015 : 2.2 TD4 150 HP and SD4 190 HP both 420 NM torque.

Heard and read many times that TD4 150 HP and SD4 190 HP engines are strictly identical (same turbo / injectors ...) excepting ECU mapping.

I see now that the engine is a TD4 and not a SD4 - I remembered wrong. Sad

But after the information I can find it is a 152 HP - DIN engine

But it's seems to be also a 160 HP - DIN engine.

Is the difference just if it is an diesel partical filter?

The 190HP - DIN engine - is that the strongest 2,2 engine or has it been any stronger engine in another model?

When I look at tuning systems - t.ex. promotech.se the 152/160 HP - DIN can be tuned to 190 HP - DIN and the 190 HP - DIN can be tuned to 215 HP.
But still i wonder if it is a differents in the engine or only in the ECU.

Is t.ex. the pistons extra cooled by oil in the SD4 engine?

The 152 engine is the same as the 160 but with DPF, for whatever reason they detune it.
In Germany the 160hp engine was never sold as all freelanders have DPF in Germany
