brake caliper painting

hi all, just fitted new rear discs, hand brake shoes and pads.

The discs are coated in a silver type paint, any how they really show up the rusty calipers,

I intend to give the calipers a service and replace any worn bits as required.

Has anyone painted the calipers and if so what brand of paint did you use, what undercoat did you use.

I will be painting them in black.

I have used high temperature paint on a bike cylinder block but not on calipers before.

cheers

hi, thanks for the input, to be honest i looked at the calipers today and decided to leave them alone.

they are very rusty which for a 2012 car is very disappointing, but to do a decent job will take ages

i want to keep this car and do want to sort the under body corrosion but with holidays coming up i will sort something out but not sure when.

I have just done my calipers as they were looking well rusty.
Bought a tin of black brake caliper paint off eblag (even came with a free paint brush)

Just about managed to paint the outer edge of the calipers without taking any wheels off.
Bit of a half job but it does look a lot better. Martyn

This may be true but I think you will find that anyone daft enough to spend serious money (a couple of £k per corner) on ceramic brakes wants to advertise the fact with yellow calipers. Thumbs Up 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
