Whirring whining noise when decelerating

Confused Hi all, new here and need some advice.
My 2011 sd4 auto has been making a kind of whining noise when decelerating, it can be heard about 30mph in drive and neutral until i stop and sounds more like its coming from the rear of the vehicle. it seems like it has been getting slowly louder too. I wonder if its low diff oil, my tyres are almost on the wear indicators too, is there a chance this could this be the reason, it would back up the theory of the noise getting louder as the tyres wear more. Any ideas?? Many thanks

Hi there and welcome, there are far more informed people on here than me but if you're keeping the car I would sort the tyres as it could well be them and they need doing anyway.

I had a similar noise a while ago, turned out it was the rear diff bearing. it was fine when under load but as soon as I took my foot off and started to slow it would whine.

I had a reconditioned diff with a bigger bearing fitted for £800... but Land rover will do a repair which is just replacing the bearing. If you contact them on here they normally offer to pay something towards it if you get the work done at a garage, think thats normally around £500 when I asked

Hi, i had the work done by LR and they did it for £350 as they admitted that the issue was a common problem, now three years on and 20000 later the noise is back, this time it starts at 30mph, more of a higher pitch that seems to turn to a lower pitch as you slow down to almost a stop.
I was sure it sounded like the rear offside wheel bearing, so i changed it, but the noise continues, do you think it could be the rear diff nose bearing again?
