Throttle valve shut down - very long beep!

I've recently noticed that sometimes when turning off my car that the throttle valve shutdown beep carries on for a few minutes. On my old Freelancer the car beeped for about a minute or so. I've searched for posts on here and found one post but it doesn't really answer my question. Does anyone know if the very long beep is a problem or just part of the car shutting down? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

What is a few minutes ?

Fair chance if never changed both body and battery are coming to end of their serviceable life.

Not sure how true but as they say a man in pub told me that throttle body is now modified with metal gearing not nylon. So now wondering if the one I just fitted on Monday that was cheap on the net is a clear out. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

The beep lasts 10-15 minutes. I had a throttle valve go on my old Freelander, engine is shuttle down ok, no noise from the valve of the gears shearing etc. Car is due a service in October so I'll ask at the garage. Just Didn't know if it was a quirk of the later models. My car is 4 years old so maybe the battery is due a change but the car is starting fine. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Ten minutes is a life time, just ensure you double lock to see if it makes any difference. Keep us posted Thumbs Up FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I double lock all the time. I'll see what the garage says. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

BEEP!! I've never heard mine beep on shutdown Confused
the only noise I had when the Throttle body failed was more a metallic grinding/screeching,
Should I be worried?

Beep is probably the wrong word, it's like a quiet high pitch tone. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

same as Deano64, but I'd describe the "click" as a FLAPPPP

Mine will sometimes give out a high pitched tone for 10 to 20 mins . Done it since new and its over 3 years old now.
I have no idea what actually causes it but its been mentioned at servicing and told not to worry. But Ive never had a previous vehicle do the same so I do worry a bit. Jules

I thought it was an EGR valve thing but will stand corrected.
