I think that is the case to get the subwoofer working again according to Incartec website. I think I will try without that first and see what the difference in sound is like. I am going to order the kit and after I fit it I will post back here to say how it went.
Thanks again for your help.

I received the kit from Incartec but the only thing I am struggling with now is I don't have any sound. There is nothing from the Incartec harness to connect to the plug that comes from the back of my new unit which is for the speakers. The instructions with the kit is really poor and only really covers one part of the process. Booktrunk can you remember anything like this happening with the kit you fitted.

When we got it there was a piece of fascia that I thought was part of the kit and that goes in the hole and creates a surround and that screwed into the gap making it smaller so the pioneer cage would fit. 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

Maybe we got it separately I didn’t think so, like this....

Not the electronics but the plastic fascia and cage.

booktrunk,
I have managed to sort out the fascia part my only problem now is the sound or lack of it. I cannot see anything in the kit that connects to the speaker system. I have emailed Incartec and waiting on a reply to find out what is supposed to be connected where.
I am not sure how you found fitting the kit but as far as I am concerned the instructions are almost none existing.

Check you haven’t blown any fuses. I think there are one or two in the boot worth checking. 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

Don’t think it’s the right kit but check this might give you pointers. http://caraudiosecurity.com/ctklr03-land-r...itting-kit 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

booktrunk,
I will have a look just in case but I know that the plug coming out of my new stereo that isn't connected to anything is for the speakers.

That is for the system without fibre optic so is slightly different. I am still waiting on a reply back from Incartec, they seem to be quick to take your money for there kit but no rush to give out information on how it is to be used.

booktrunk,
This is another harness that was in the kit which is to do with the speaker system. The brown plug would fit into the connection coming from the back of my new stereo but do you know where the green plug was connected to as there is no other connections available from the vehicle harness.

I think you have to run that cable to the boot of the car. The amplifier should be behind the RH side boot trim. Pictures of an AMP show green connectors similar to the green plug on that harness.

They call it "amplifier bypass cable". So I think you have the disconnect the green plug from the AMP and connect that plug into the plug of your harness. This will then connect the speakers to the new radio, bypassing the AMP.

grumsel,

Thanks for your reply. That certainly is a big help. There is no details with the kit I got to tell me anything like this. It has now turned out to be one of those jobs I wish I hadn't started.
Thanks again for your help.

Maybe this topic can help: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic11565.html. It gives a step-by-step description how to gain access to the equipment behind the RH side boot trim. On the last photo you can see the amplifier, behind the Bluetooth module.

booktrunk,

Is this the cable you had to run from the back of the head unit to the Amp in the boot?
