United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue
Dart Practice / BMW X3 Pics

Take your pick but thought I would share a couple of pics of my new X3!

It brought back many memories of when I changed my first 2008 FL2 for the updated 2011 FL2, comparing the improvements over the previous model and whilst I adored the SD4 engine over the TD4 and the updated front end treatment I felt underwhelmed, why didn't they improve the interior, fit daytime running lights etc etc, of course the bigger and better improvements came a couple of years later for the 2013 update but in all honesty I was disappointed that LR hadn't gone further with the updates to the 2011 model.

Roll on 6 years and I was in the same position with my current X3, it was a car I adored and was reluctant to swop but I could get a higher spec facelift X3 for less money. As I waved my current X3 off on a Friday afternoon I couldn't help think that I should have kept it, 45,000 fault free miles and it was immaculate. It wasn't until Monday that my new one arrived and omg what a difference, it is a facelift of my previous model but feels so much better in almost every way - the engine (updated) is really quiet, smoother, more powerful and more economical, the ride (opted for adaptive dampers rather than m-sport suspension) is amazing super smooth, the interior has been refreshed and feels even more premium, the infotainment is updated and is at another level, everything makes it feel like a completely different car, so pleased with it and glad that I didn't wait another 18 months for the new X3 - this one is amazing, here are a couple of pics of her - colour is carbon black which is black on a dull day but blue when the sun pops out (unlike my Bali Blue FL2 that was purple on a dull day and blue when the sun popped out lol!!)

I like the colour combination. Carbon Black (IMO) looks great on the X3. driving on the right side

That's about as far off-road as one would want to go with those wheels!

that chap with a spade come as an option on the new disco just ask for ESA (emergency spade assist). When parked he does magic tricks at the front of the vehicle to keep everyones eyes from the unfortunate rear end design. thats part of the OAP ( optical avoidance package).

Upgrade to BOAP and the windscreen automatically shades areas of the windscreen so the Land rover owner doesnt have to look at unpleasent BMWs when meeting on the road. (BMW optical avoidance package).
Although this will have to be upgraded to XBOAP to block out the true ugliness of the X3 , with this the landrover takes over autonomous steering while steel shutters cover the windscreen in milliseconds,

Coming soon GPS XBOAP, Russian satellites track the progress of all the worlds X3's ( nothing new there), this information is relayed to LR vehicles so the sat nav can route your car away from the optical danger.
This system could also be used to avoid accidentally following a D5 but LR wont unlock the feature. At work

It's a nice colour, but I'm not sure that even the legendary Chris Bangle would be able to talk his way out of this one! Whistle

I'll assume that it must be spectacularly nice to drive
