Climate Control Sensors

My previous Freelander 2's climate control seemed fine however I now have on 08 HSE where the climate control fan seems to be rather busy compared to my old car. For example - external temp 10 Degrees - internal setting 18 degrees. The fan seems to be at well over half speed for around 20 miles before slowly slowing down. Now this could the correct behaviour and the old girl's Climate Control was iffy!

I do remember on a different make (Ford), you were advised to ensure the sensors were clean and free of fluff and dust..which I guess is sensible for any make....can anyone tell me where the sensors are on the FL2 please?

Thanks

The sensor is just next to your left knee above the knee airbag, behind a small grill.
The possibilities.... the sensor has a fan that directs air over the metalic strip, either the fan motor is gone, will generate a DTC or otherwise the metalic strip/sensor s covered in dust. MY15

THANKS

Stuart - thanks. Yes I can see it - just below the key-fob slot. I'll try a gentle clean.

can the sensor unit be removed for cleaning?
the reason I ask is I had the same problem on a Discovery TD5 and it's amazing just how much fluff/dust it will collect.

Yes.
When you remove the fascia panel it mounted behind, just unscrew and remove plug. MY15
