fiiting spotlights to face lift front bumper

Hi, currently haveblanking panels on a 2013 front bumper. I'm presuming that these will just pull out and then you can fit spot light assemblies in their place. Not bothered about wiring them up, cosmetic purposes only.

I'm I right in my presumptions, plus where's the best place to purchase them from / approx. price ?

Thanks, Neil. MY13 TD4 Black and White manual - Gone

Sorry, yes I mean front fog lights, As well as the fog light assemblies I presume I will also need the surrounds ?

Will my current blanking panels just pull out with a degree of assistance / lever ?

I'm sure they will just pull out Question
By the looks of it the bumper is the same has with fogs but with just blanking covers, you might even find the fixing bracket are behind the covers

Spotlights foglights

The bumper will have all the internal mouldings to take fog lamps. The blanking panels will fix using the same latching clips as the fog surrounds. A good idea would be to buy the new fog surrounds and study the clips. You most likely will need to remove the bumper and use a screwdriver from the rear to release each clip one by one until the blank comes free.
It would be wise to appreciate that non working lights will be a road traffic offence and an mot failure point for any car of relevant age. Can I suggest researching the forum for retro fitting fog lamps as there may be information on wiring and programming(?).

I may be wrong on this, but I understand that MOT rules have changed in certain area's. I am sure I read that any item such as fog lights etc, if fitted, need to be working. If not it will be a MOT failure.

Maybe someone who is an MOT tester on here can clarify? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Yes Mav I can also remember seeing something about that
All lights need to be working and if any engine management lights are showing its a fail

He could always keep hold of the blanking covers and stick them over the top of the fogs :when its dew its MOT ?: BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

I believe it's still only the rears that have to work, as its not a legal requirement to have front fogs. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Fogs or no fogs

There is also the police roadside check which DOES happen; I got caught out with non working additional front spot lamps; I actually had them wired thro a relay on main beam only but as I only had dip beam on they wouldn't work; mr policeman cautioned me just verbally.
I wonder if a circular reflector off a lorry might be ok?

Hi Guys,

Hopefully you can provide me some guidance. I've tried to pull out the blanking plates where the fog lights mount on a face lift bumper, but they just will not come, and I'm frightened of damaging the bumper.

Is it possible to get my hand around the back side of the bumper and un-clip / push the blank plates without removing the bumper ?

Thanks
