12v Feed for DRLs

Hi all, I hope someone can help me, I wish to fit some DRLs to my MY07 Freelander2 and ask if anyone can advise me the best way to find a 12v feed that is ignition controlled from under the bonnet.
Also if anyone knows of a DRL relay that senses Dip and Main Beam on and cuts the DRLs?
A big ask I knoe but hopefully someone can help me please.
Many thanks Mick

you can use a normal relay, just change the feed and in and out around, will see if I can find my notes from when I did it on a maverick Common sense isn't very common.

I know, I'm so ashamed I've learnt my lessen and returned to the fold.

moving on.

if I remember right you wire numbers 85 and 86 the other way round on a four pin relay, on a five pin you wire normally but use the 87a instead of the 87 to the lights.

hope that helps Common sense isn't very common.

Hi, I fitted a cool gadget to my disco 3 to control halo DRLs, it connected directly to battery via fused wire, wire to both DRLs, + and - and one wire to dip beam. It sensed car starting from battery drain powering up DRLs after bout 3 seconds and turned them off about 5 seconds after stopping engine. More importantly though it reduced power by 50% to DRLs when dipped beam on so as not to dazzle drivers (legal requirement I think). Wire to dipped beam though not sidelights - I can dig out link if still available if you're interested - cheers

that sounds like a good system and easy to wire in. Common sense isn't very common.
