Fault code bingo!

Hi All,

I’ve posted a few queries in the past and had great answers, hopefully you’ll help me out with this one.

We have an 07 plate manual Td4 with 94K on the clock which recently has started having a tantrum.

Whenever it brakes hard, or brakes downhill – essentially when the rear end raises it throws up HDC fault, Transmission Fault, Special programs off etc.

On the dash the fuel and temp gauge travel to the top and the speedo and rev counter drops to nothing even when the car is moving.

After a few moments all goes back to normal with the EML light remaining on the dash.

Throughout this the car drives as normal.

It did have a similar fit about 18 months ago but I traced it to the reluctor ring? Which was cleaned and the engine given a good drive to clean everything out.

I’ve ordered a fault code reader to try and get some more insight, but, I hope some of you lot many have experienced something similar and can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Have you checked the security of you battery and also the earth lead and its connection to the body. It is worth adding an additional earth lead to the engine/ gearbox if not already done. 1982 RR Classic-converted to 200TDi-gone

Yaw sensor? That will react to heavy braking and has been linked to spurious dash errors, there is a thread on here
