After 9 years near-faultless service, I traded the old ‘Muddy’ - a 57-plate TD4 SE Auto for an SD4 Metropolis.
Bought it from a Ford Main Dealer who’d taken it in p/ex against a new Focus RS Turbo!
The new ‘Muddy’ is a November ’14 late model with full LRSH, 16k on the clock and not a mark on her. Loaded with proper, LR, extras like roof rails & bars, mudflaps, side-steps, full set of mats, and s/steel cill trims etc. 9 months LR warranty left too.
It was priced very significantly below anything similar from any LR Dealers, but they offered me the same p/ex value as LR's did. Result!

So, a few thoughts after about 1k in the new car...

The extra BHP is very welcome, esp. as there’s no MPG penalty (maybe even a bit better than the TD4)
The extra sound-proofing is very effective.
Overall, the drive is much smoother.
Love the Bi-Xenons!
Love the 825 watt Meridian HiFi even more!
The powered, heated, memory seats are lovely - as is the heated steering wheel.
The SatNav/Displays etc are a vast improvement. The reversing camera is great for hitching a tow.
Like the ‘Keyless’ ignition and the electronic handbrake too.

Possible snags I’ve thought of so far... the upgrade cost of the SatNav seems exorbitant. I’ve kept my beloved wide-screen Garmin SatNav while I think about the original one. The handbrake could be a maintenance issue - esp. as I do quite a bit of off-roading. I’d prefer a bit more rubber under me than is provided by the 19” wheels - pretty as they may be. White was my 3rd-choice colour (after red or silver) - however, after an upcoming week fishing in the Wye Valley, she’ll come back nearly red!

Over many years in business (now long-retired) I’ve had loads of posh motors - big Beemers & Mercs, Range Rovers etc., but the FL2 always seemed to me the perfect compromise of on-and-off road capability, comfort and cost. And it just got better!

Lovely, I'd have liked white but all I could get Was black. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

It's true that light travels faster than sound, some people look quite intelligent until you hear them speak.
