Wheel step

Has anyone purchased a wheel step to assist in loading and unloading a roof box and are they worth the cash

I always thought the steps to use were the rear door sill and the top of the rear tyre - - or is that just me? Confused

I'm constantly loading canoes/kayaks on my roof and always use the rear tyre, so just can't see the point of having this step.
If I do need to move forward I then use the door sills.

If you look at the pic, that chap would be so much better positioned if he too was standing on the tyre. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

I agree with the above! I stand on my wheel all the time. However for those who cannot manage this ....disabilities/elderly ...the step does/is handy Thumbs Up MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I have a cheap plastic caravan step which I bought because my mother couldn't climb into the Disco 2. I just hoik it out of the garage when I need to do something like wash the roof, and if need be it sits happily in the boot. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Must be a fenland thing Past master, that's exactly how I do it as well for exactly the same reasons as you said! Very Happy

Mind you I did buy a folding step that stays in the boot all the time.
