AC is blowing hot air if the car is idle (not moving)

Hi Everyone

I have LR2 2008 HSE i6, running 213000 kms. The problem I have today is AC is blowing hot air if the car is idle (not moving), but when moving it's blowing cold air (not freezing anyway)

What could be the problem?

Do the no cost basics first but thats assuming its correctly gassed, is it ?

Remove and check the pollen filter. It could be blocked.

Check the AC drain hose is not blocked its under the centre console, take off the side panels. Do a search on the site as its a common item. You should be able to tell by seeing if water dripping under the car when AC is working, no water fair chance its blocked.

Wash out any build of dust / muck in the heat exchange matrix. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Check that the radiator fan is working as it also blows across the A/C heat exchanger. The clue here is that hot air is blown from the A/C when at a standstill. When you’re moving the heat exchanger is cooled by the movement of the car through the air and you get cool air in the car. At standstill, no fan gets you hot air.

1. already re-fill the AC gas
2. Pollen filter is new

Not sure where it is, but will check it later tomorrow, do you have picture information/diagram? in case it's blocked, what to do next?

No I do not, sorry. just quoting what I have read here and all you have to do is clean it once you find it under the console side cover, go for the left one (passenger UK).

Looks to me that later cars (MY13 onwards) have a much bigger drain system as I went to check mine the other day. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
