Is coastal air laden with salt from the sea?

Are the drain holes clear in there ? I've gone over the inside of the sun roof a few times with a good wax and sprayed lots of silicone in there. It seems a bit of a moisture trap especially if the sunroof doesn't get opened much.

Arese I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to work outside in the Arabian Gulf and for many summer months it was not just stinking hot it was also 100% humidity quite near to the sea.

Cars rotted from the top down unlike Europe were we have the opposite. That is your problem and yes the area could have been better had it been treated from new better.

Damage is done and at least you are aware and can start doing something about it now. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

SYFL2 : I don't know about the drain holes, I'll check but where are they ? I've never used any wax or sprayed anything Confused and I don't open it often Confused

Yorky Bob : you're right, damage it done now ... I'll take it to LR dealer since it's always under warranty coverage.

SWMBO's 2006 FL1 sunroof started like this and spread terribly. Am now afraid to even open it in case the whole thing falls apart. Odd really as there is no corrosion anywhere else on the car. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green
