I have found someone local though with excellent reviews who does mobile smart repairs. Say's he can do it in one day and wants £245 +Vat So hopefully will be getting it repaired by him next week.

Ian.

shop around as that seems dear, there is a dent remover company in Bromley that done two large dents on the door of my Honda crv and charged me 170. and no paint needed and could not even see where the dents were after.

I must admit it's the only smart repairer I have contacted but the reviews after looking at many sung it for me. It needs paint as well. He said he needs to tack tabs on it to pull it out. Also the paint is Aintree Green which is almost a Candy effect to look at so I don't think the cost is too bad considering it's a days work. 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep

Milothedog your correct, there is no slack in a small panel like that to pull on and out easily, so different to a door skin. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

The main dealer would be farming the repair out to a local chip and dent man, pay his fee and then taking a healthy profit off the job for themselves. You get the same job done at a sensible price by cutting out the middleman.

We have such a chip and dent man neighbour (handy) and most of his work is from dealers and used car lots.

yes I agree, having noticed the chip and dent vehicles at my dealers on numerous occasions.

fair enough thinking about it the door skin is a bit more flexible than where your damage is plus the painting
ect so its a good price and hope all goes well which im sure it will as those dent guys really do know their stuff.
shame you couldn't find the ahole that done it.

Interesting he needs to tack tabs to it, some of these guys use a form of hot glue to pull out the dent and this leaves no marks when heated and removed. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Respect due for that. That is a great repair for the price considering the location and difficulty of the panel SD4 HSE Lux

I'm happy with it, he's a young Polish guy who works for himself. It was a far bit of work, took him about 5 hours. He spot welded pins on the dent about 3 or 4 times and teased it out with a slide hammer. He also painted it twice as he wasn't happy with the colour match the first time. You cant make out where he blended the lacquer just above the rear door at the narrowest point. 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep

Looks very nice.

Nice Early Easter Present

Similar to OP, our car was clobbered yesterday. Tesco car park, the car was unoccupied but my wife was approaching it when a lady pulled into the next bay rather too fast.

Front bumper smashed, valance scuffed andmisshapen, wing creased, n/s front alloy seriously disfigured and a cut tyre sidewall with a chunk taken out the sidewall/tread by the bumper as it wedged into the tread. Not pretty at all.

Our insurance is on the case, the FL2 has already gone to the body shop and a Ford Edge auto delivered as a courtesy car.

The third party has since indicated that she wants to bypass her insurer and pay for the repairs directly but I suspect the cost of it all will be rather high.

Sorry to read this but at least you know who did the damage unlike my car. I ended up £300 out of pocket Evil or Very Mad

I wouldn't entertain them paying for the damage, let their insurance sort it.
