Stuttering and lack of power

10 days ago drove about70 miles through some horrendous rain on the way home from the football, the car misfired/stuttered a few times when accelerating. Next day had a 25 mile trip to do and car drove fine until out on the motorway, got up to 60-65 then when trying to accelerate a little to overtake....no power Sad I struggled on as the car slowed o the slightest incline, 50 mile an hour in a 70 is not funny. Finally made it back to town and all of a sudden the power came back. I haven't had time till today to use the car again so took it out this morning and it seemed fine with only a slight whistle when accelerating Confused Then the check engine light came on, I put a code reader on it and got a p1103 code MAF. So I cleared the code and opened up the air filter box to find Shocked

Still very wet, I guess the airbox must have flooded during the rainy trip

That's what you get from hitting deep pudles too fast. Normal driving in rain won't do that.

You may have a split intercooler hose as you have a whistle noise. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Fast

Wasn't driving too fast. The rain was torrential for about 40 miles then slightly less torrential for the rest of the journey.

Checked the intercooler hoses 10 minutes ago, no splits, but still getting a whistle, think I'll pull the rest of the air intake pipe off tomorrow might still be some of the air filter in there 2007 hse auto
