Yet another tyre question, sorry...

235/55-R19 who's running what?
Anyone got the Michy Crossclimates??
Looking for new boots and wondering if the £800 price tag for Michy Crossclimate is justified?
Any advice greatfully received. FREELANDER 1 55 plate XS TD4 Had for 7yrs now sold 😢

Pirelli SCorpion Verde All Season on mine, originally was on Continental but they seemed noisy, these are quieter but also feel more pliant.
18" winters will be going on shortly when I get round to doing it.

Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme. I put them on in October last year and ran them through this summer as well. Vredestein are a relatively hard compound and will not wear excessively in summer.

Nowhere near £200 a corner, more like half that. driving on the right side

My Crossclimates have settled in now and only time will tell if they last longer as advertised. Quite liking them.

I paid £135 a corner 5 weeks ago at ATS but 17". FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I've been looking at these also, so you ran them all year, do they work well in the summer conditions? Would you buy them again? Cheers FREELANDER 1 55 plate XS TD4 Had for 7yrs now sold 😢

Just fitted a set of Pirelli Scorpion Atr's and I'm more than happy with them , no noisier than the Goodyear Wranglers and a lot quieter than the GG at's on my wifes FL2 . I paid around £101 per tyre for 17's.

2007 FL2 TD4 GS (The wifes , gone after 8 great years)
2012 FL2 SD4 SPORT LE(Gone and missing it)

2014 Ford Bmax 1.0 ecoboost ( Gone but what next )

Perfectly happy with them. We don't do high mileage but use them on a mixture of town and highway. Quiet and no sign of wear. I've used Vredestein for a number of years as my winter choice.

My experience, which may help someone, is as follows:

GGs = Poor rated wet performance, although not used them myself. A couple of farmers I know use them seriously off-road every day-without complaint.

Scorpions = Great down to 4mm which is when all the sipes disappear and you are left with large tread blocks - I slid all over the place on roads covered in snow / ice at 4mm.

Goodyear Wrangler - Always been a fantastic tyre but can be noisy at the end. Plenty of sipes still present at 2mm.

Michelin cross climate - A SUMMER-biased all season tyre which I have not used.

Nokian Weatherproof SUV - A WINTER-biased all season tyre which is what I am currently running. You can leave them on all year and yet they are M+S and mountain snow peak - rated. Gets fantastic reviews and my experience is all good so far ! I don't work for Nokian Very Happy FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

FL1 HSE TD4 Manual Black - Gone.

Thanks Pedro, I'm needing a more road tyre than off road tyre, BUT we do go across wet muddy fields to shows and events so still some grip level off road AND living in Scotland we could get some serious snow too.

Bottom line is I don't want to look like a dick stuck in the snow or on a wet muddy field in a Land Rover and have some idiot in a BMW or AUDI not getting stuck due to poor tyre choice and driving passed me while hand gesturing!!! Rolling with laughter
Oh the embarrassment Embarassed

Thanks all for your feedback Thumbs Up FREELANDER 1 55 plate XS TD4 Had for 7yrs now sold 😢

Know you want more road biased tyres than these but you won't be passed by anything in mud or snow with these fitted lol
