I've always been a fan of Discoveries and so want to love the latest but even after seeing one in a local dealer and having a poke around the other week it just doesn't click for me, can't put my finger on why but I don't feel the want anymore - not that it matters as I'm not in the position to buy one anyway..
Would that be the long felt want I had occasionally? SO SAD!!!

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

I saw a new Discovery (D5) reversing towards me today.
I was surprised how small (and weak?) the reversing lights were.
Unless I was looking in the wrong place, they looked like a couple of Christmas fairy leds.

On a broader point I have been disappointed with the range of reversing lights for some time. A few years ago I had to retrace my path backwards up a very narrow lane, after being given some wrong directions. Looking through my rear window I found that I could not see the ground close to the car where it was illuminated. The only way I could see was to open the driver's door and lean out. Modern reversing lights are like modern fog lights mainly fashion items!

PS -- I still have my old Wipac Fog and Spot lights in the loft, -- perhaps I ought to find then. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I find a fair number of new cars with tiny brake lights & indicators as well. They can be a bit difficult to see in the strong glare of sunlight we get down under. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Nope, I’ve had uglier

It’s the most enjoyment I’ve had from driving a LR in long time.

Nice j77. Thumbs Up
But each to their own, I was in one the other day and being vertically challenged I found everything slightly out of reach (and yes the seat was forward lol) and the bonnet (hood) was so long and dips away that I couldn't tell where the end was.
Which was the same problem I had when test driving the new Peugeots.

But that's me so ENJOY Thumbs Up If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

How much height have you got in the back ? It looks very shallow with that sloping roof appearing to loose a lot of useful space. Jules

I’m going to stick up for J77’s Velar, as being the best looking new design that LR have come up with since the FL2, D3/4 and L322 Range Rover Thumbs Up

Big enough for her to stand up

And head room for rear passengers is good.

There is a lip in the boot as my one has a space saver spare but has a completely flat floor with the seats folded whereas the ones with full size spare don’t have the lip but also don’t have a flat floor with the seats folded. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I think I am coming round to the looks of nearly all the new models, but it takes time and agree that the Velar is the best of the bunch (not quite there yet with the new Discovery rear-end, though!).

With regards height in the back, I think we need to know whether the fine-looking beastie in J77’s photo is a whippet or a FF greyhound! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
