DC motor identification/replacement in door latch

Hi all,
my door lock on driver's side stopped working properly, so based on one thread in this forum I managed to take it apart. I wanted to clean the brushes on the motor, however, the carbon brushes were crushed and fell apart so I couldn't use it. I used brushes from some other motor I found at home. The motor is working (locking), but not 100%.
I was trying to find a replacement motor but no luck.
Does anyone know where I could buy one? Or do you at least know what are the specs of this motor? It is the bigger out of two in the mechanism.

Thanks heaps!

I'd be interested in finding a replacement too. I could be wrong but searching around they could be the same Ford Mondeo. search on "FC-280 12V"

Hi DigDil,
thanks for that, by the images it looks exactly as the one in the door latch. It appears that there are two sizes: 9 and 10mm, I reckon it is the bigger one, right?

The only thing is that I can't find one locally, they are all in China, which takes about 3 weeks to arrive..

I’m not sure. You’re one step ahead of me having taken the door apart. At least one of my doors is getting a bit hit and miss now so I’m expecting to have to the do the same shortly. Hence me searching and find the Ford one with what looked to be the same part No.

I’ve found some for sale local to the uk but there quite a bit more expense than ones from China so I’ll throw some money at that first. If nothing else I might be able to use the brushes from them. If you check uk ebay some of them listed there have diagrams of the dimensions which might help.

I’d be interested know what you find?

So I purchased a new motor on ebay (it took about 2-3 weeks to arrive) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301939812281?_t...EBIDX%3AIT
By looking at it seems to be the same size as the one in the locking mechanism. I will report back once I will have time to replace the motor.
