Gear shift problems

I've got a problem with my Freelander 2 from 2007.
When I was on my way home last night was the gear shift very tough. It took some force, to get it out of gear. And now it seems like it does not really go into gear. It has trouble shifthing in 4th gear

When I drive in 1st-2nd-3rd there is no problem.

I think I can find something about that there should be a problem with a bolt to be tightened. But can not figure out which one it should be.

When I disconnected the cables to the shift lever so run these fine.

Some who can tell help me little one the right direction.

The car is a Freelander 2 2,2TD4 with manual gear.

Just a thought but it is necessary to adjust the cables under the gear stick when you disturb the gearbox. There are instructions on the web on how to do it but basically you put the gear lever in a certain position and there is an adjuster clip on one of the cables under the gaiter (easily removed). I wonder if that has not been clicked back in position properly and it has slipped? There are also known issues with the reverse blocking solenoid but that doesn't sound like your problem. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

This is in the Haynes Manual. It might also beworth checking that the problem isn't in the Gear Lever itself. I had a squeeky stiff one once and a little oil and grease made a big difference. (no comments please!)

Freelander Gearbox difference??

Hello

The gearbox in my 2007 Freelander 2 2,2 S Td4 is broken. Banging Head Banging Head

And now I'm looking for a replacment. I have found one from a 2010 Td4e.
Both cars are with a manual 6-speed transmission.
Do you guys know if it will fit and work in my car?

I hope that you can help me

Kind Regards
Lasse

Is the TD4e a 2Wd version ? I think it might be so on that basis my guess is its not going to be a direct replacement. Big Cry FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

The TD4e thing was brief I think. It was the first start stop model and that was their way of saying so. Now they all are so no need to show it. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
