Locking the car with a single press of the lock button on your fob stops the internal volumetric gubbins from working.

Temporary remove the electrical connecting plug from the bonnet switch and bridge the two pins with a short wire and two mini spade spades to slide on to the pins. You need to bridge the plug as the switch will be open circuit connecting the pins will close the circuit so the alarm will not trigger.
