Can anyone give me a definitive answer, What LED bulb fits the footwell sockets,type, name and where can I purchase them ?

try this search on fle bay or Halfords or a local motor factor would get hold of them for you' capless led bulbs I put them in my footwell lights only to discover at night time with everything switched off doors locked that the led's were still lit up (very dim) ie still drawing a currant from the battery so I took them back out and put the originals back in, rather than coming out to a flat battery

Fitted the new LED bulbs in footwell and they did not work, when in LR garage I asked if they could solve the problem, was told to turn the bulbs round to change polarity hey presto the now work

Mine is a 2015 Se Tech. Ive put some LED bulbs into the already wired sockets but I cant get them to switch on.
Ive rotated the LEDs around in case the polarity was wrong but they are still not coming on.

I'll check the sockets for power later today but thought Id ask under what situations should the footwell lights come on ? Jules

Car definitely has wires to the socket.

Not had time to check power or fuses - job for the weekend.

If it needs "configuring" I guess that means finding someone with a gizmo to alter some software somewhere.

Silly really that these things are not standard in a near top end Freelander - my daughter's mid-range Fiesta has footwell lights. Not that they are of any great importance. Jules

Which fuse do the footwell lights use ? Jules

Not sure what fuse, no configuring needed, my last car had the sockets, popped lamps in and they worked.

I used these in the foot well and under mirror lights - 10 smd T10 leds in ice blue. They work very well and don't have polarity issues and are canbus approved. Quite a lot brighter than the standard filament bulb

Those are nice looking LEDS - mine look a bit Heath-Robinson. Where did you get yours from ?

But all sorted - now have working LEDs in the footwells.

The problem was that the LEDs woudnt work in the sockets. After bench-testing I found the LEDs were functioning and that there was power at the footwell sockets.

The LEDs must be narrower than the corresponding bulbs or at least the electrical contact strip is narrower. Eitherway its possible to insert them so they are offset in the socket and dont make the circuit. Identifying this is not helped by being LEDs they have to be the correct way round too. Jules
