England 2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Santorini Black
Picking up hippo tomorrow.

Hi all, new on here but not to Land Rovers, had three range rovers, a discovery, 110, lightweight and a series 3 swb.
Tomorrow I'm collecting a 2007 3.2ltr auto hse on lpg Very Happy in drug dealer black Whistle
Read lots on this site and I must say it's one of the best in the way of help and information I've come across.
I bought 5 hpi checks on auto trader and have only used 2, so 3 left going spare, if you need one get in touch (free to good home)

What an awesome car it is, way past what is was expecting, only one key but got the local Indy to sort that along with tow bar and electrics. Can see why you guys like them so much. Common sense isn't very common.

agreed, a lot more capable off road than people give them credit for. You just have to learn to use the electronics off road rather than the lumps of metal in older LR working in hi/lo range, diff lock etc ETC

wheel spin off road is normal these days, as the electronics kick in to control power distribution

I must admit to being more than a little apprehensive at buying my black HSE i6. However I'm so glad I did. It's performance is great. Been getting mid twenties on local runs to work and back and got 31.8 MPG combined when I went on holiday recently .It's about what I was getting from my 300tdi Discovery 12 years ago, so I'm happy.
I was thinking of gas converting it. Could you please let me know what system yours has and what sort of MPG you are getting from it. LPG local to me is 39p a litre.
Oh, and welcome to the forum.
Regards.
Ian

System on mine is BRC, it was fitted in 2011 and has done 46000 miles, runs great, can't tell the difference between petrol and lpg. I like the mot emissions test results, first one I had done over 20 years ago the tester thought his machine was broken when it said 0.0% The only drawback is the tank is fitted in the spare wheel well so do you run without a spare or keep it in the already small boot?
Just filled it up for the second time so I can workout the consumption.
covered 287 miles, 150 miles on a motorway, 10 mile trips to work and general town work, take 27 miles off to cover petrol start up leaving 270, put 60ltrs in giving an average of 20.7 miles per gallon, which is what the car computer worked it out to as well!
If you did 10,000 miles a year working out at the alleged mpg average you would get:-
Diesel at £1.14 per litre and doing 37 mpg = £1400.00
Petrol at £1.12 per litre and doing 25 mpg = £2000.00
LPG at £0.40 per litre and doing 21 mpg = £866.66 (not everybody gets it this cheap so)
" " £0.50 " " " " " " = £1083.33
A good conversion would be about 2k so it would take just under 2 years to pay for itself.
Hope I've worked that out right and hope it helps. Common sense isn't very common.

Great. Just what I was expecting.
Once my Freelander 1 rally car is sold, I'll look into getting a conversion done.
