ABS Light & low battery power!

Hi, fingers crossed on this one,
I've been rewiring my Thinkware Cameras, after one failed!
I have frequently been turning the ignition on/off etc,
now when I attempted to start the motor I find the ABS light stays on and motor will not turn over,
Any thoughts on this Question ..........other than let someone else do the leccies. Rolling Eyes

The battery will be 4 years this November and I have another new one due tomorrow. DAVE.

Try charging the battery. The Freel2 is very power hungry, and will deplete a good battery surprisingly quickly. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Yes very true, my battery at nearly four years old is the reason I have a new one coming tomorrow,
I suppose my question is if I've pulled the battery power down, would the ABS light stay on?
It seem a bit strange to me. Confused DAVE.

Might be similar to what I did, did you remove any fuses? When I put my cam in I removed a couple of fuses to find a live and put them back in wrong place.
Same result as you.

I don't believe I've replaced a fuse wrongly, I did take a photo of
the fuse panel before starting. I'll check again in the morning, it's always possible I have. Sad DAVE.

The ABS pump is energised by the battery when the motor isn’t running and a discharged battery that won’t start the motor is slow to start the pump so the system checks fail. It’s possible that you’re also getting an HDC and special programs not available messages as the ABS is part of all that. Once the motor is running and the battery charging the ABS pump should work and the messages should disappear. For now, get a good battery charger/conditioner, charge the battery you’ve got and you should be good to go.

Thanks Bossbob, I was sitting on passenger side during camera rewiring
and only saw the ABS light, checked this morning and yup HDC showing as well.
also I've just read Alex's excellent description of this issue (dated 2011)
So old battery out and now awaiting YODEL to deliver at midday. Thumbs Up DAVE.
