A Bit of Spit and Polish

With it being such nice weather I thought I'd give the Freely a bit of a wash and brush up. Washed her yesterday and left her to dry out overnight in the garage. Then polished her today, so no pulling water out of crevices with the polish cloth. Quite pleased with the results!

Car looks lovely and a very nice colour but I think letting it dry in the garage is not the thing to do.

It's not left to dry in the garage. It is dried with a microfibre towel but as we all know, when you go to polish there are little pockets of water in various crevices that get pulled out by the polish cloth. Leving it overnight these pockets drain away so you're polishing a dry car.

rather pull water out of gaps, than polish in dust that has settled overnight Laughing

Last time i did a full on detail, i washed it the day before, totally clean no tar or anything, then left it over night washed it again and taped up the gaps to prevent dirt been puilled out by the machine polisher

the other week, i got my blower attachment on the petrol strimmer and blew off all the water Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

You need to spend some time cleaning your garage!

I use this trick after washing my car, take it for a short spin around the block, ideally where corners are involved and you can get above 40mph, blows all the water out the holes and then just dry again with Microfibre.

Ready to polish up same day then . . . . Very Happy Freelander 2 LE Sport - Largo Grey

I did that the other week, fast rural road nearby, was a little exuberant and ended up washing the front again as it was covered in flies Laughing
