Yep - seen that SLIF - clever way of boosting profits and blaming someone else for having to do it - wish I could get away with same in my business Wink

It will cost me around £1 to fully charge at home unless I go economy 7 which will be cheaper still - I'm not going to pay £6 for an 80% fast charge - it will be cheaper on petrol for the odd time I go any distance Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Good old Dale Vince founder of Ecotricity based in my home town Stroud - ex hippie turned capitalist. Notwithstanding you have to hand it to him, 25 years ago dragging cars from the mud at Glastonbury to amassing a fortune of £100million plus on the back of renewable energy subsidies which you and I pay for from our taxes. Clever or what. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I'm surprised you haven't got a Mitsubishi CG - very popular with farmers I believe Wink

I have seen the stories about Mitsubishi fiddling figure on emissions and economy - LR would never do something like that - oh wait how far away from 53 mpg am I Whistle

Time will tell but my neighbour is giving me confidence to try it and with the savings it's worth the punt -saved enough to buy a used 5.0 XK if I get bored Mr. Green Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

mitsubishi pickup are like all the rest, build to a price, generally reliable but you get a nasty shock on parts prices if things go wrong.
defenders seem to break more often but parts seem a bargain compared to pickup parts. keep the phev in warranty I imagine repairs those would be a high voltage shock. At work

I'm planning on keeping it 3 years as it's got 3 years servicing, 5 years normal warranty and 8 years battery but only kept the last RRS 2 years and the DS 8 months so don't quote me on that Laughing

My neighbour claims customer service is excellent and reliability - I sort of hope it's not or I may never return to LR Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Well my son exchanged his FL2 for a 6 month old Mitsubishi L200 warrior demo, 3k miles £24k leather seats 5yr warranty and all the toys. It's just as quiet as the FL2, more economical and he reckons it's better off road when in 4WD with diff lock. Three years servicing package for £700. The Mitsubishi dealership is not as smart as LR by any means but adequate and efficient. I am looking out for the Shogun Sport which looks interesting and should be available this year. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Sooner my taxes help pay to clean up the air than enable petrochemical giants to pay f-all corporation tax through dodgy offshore deals, not to mention doing business with foreign countries with questionable human rights records.

Good Luck to Dale Vince, at least he didn't inherit it all from Mummy and Daddy.

Very Happy 2009 FL2

Enjoy, they seem popular, they're not for me though.

All the pollution is just moved out of town, it still exists. Pick on diesel owners for polluting towns and cities, yet out of town the power stations are churning out more muck than they've ever done. The hole in the Ozone has shrunk so petrol and CO2 is now good and diesel is now the anti christ. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Not all the pollution!
UK electricity generation is typically 'browner' in the daytime (although still greener than burning straight diesel in a car).
But mostly electric vehicles get recharged at night while owners sleep when the generation mix is typically greener (and there's often spare capacity otherwise going to waste).

People forget the vast amounts of electricity needed to extract, pump and refine diesel too!

Thumbs Up 2009 FL2

This is my list of faults on the DS since delivery over the last 8 months -

1. LTB00910 - Auto Circulation Cannot Be Set To High In The Climate Settings Screen
2. LTB00890v4 - Tailgate Squeak
3. LTB00878/SSM72614 - Squeaks And Rattles 2nd Row Seat Frame
4. SSM72796 - L550 Discovery Sport tailgate alignment
5. P085 - Engine Cover to Fuel Line Foul
6. Q597 - Rear License Plate Lamp Loose
7. Q608v2 - Incorrect Transmission Software Calibration
8. SSM72736 - GEN 2.1 16MY Touch Screen Display Screen Saver Not Holding Setting
9. SSM72615 - Low battery warning message displayed ECO Stop/ Start unavailable
10. Keyless locking/opening intermittent
11. Paint peeling off exhaust
12. Tailgate water running into boot when open and down my neck!

My delivery was also delayed from September to December due to quarantine at factory for issues so you'd think everything would be sorted before I received it Shocked

I know the issues are nothing serious or I wouldn't offer it For Sale here but it's pretty disappointing when you spend £40k to be a test driver for LR Big Cry

In contrast my neighbour is on his second PHEV and both only visited dealer for annual service Confused

If I hadn't had the above I've no doubt I would be keeping it until LR came out with a PHEV - my worry now is that it may also be full of issues too Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

2014 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Loire Blue

I have just returned from looking at the phev in cirencester. You got me thinking, used for short journeys only and charging at a pound a night is great. (And charging on campsites). Fuel cost would be almost zero. I nearly bought one, but Mitsubishi offered only 21000 for my hse lux. Also I found the phev looks pretty good on the outside but the interior is awful and depressing, a world apart from The freelander.

I would have paid Mitsubishi a bit more for a better interior. Such a pity, I think if the inside was better a lot of Landy owners would get one.

They still haven't got it right then, it's been a year since I sold mine and some of those problems were around then. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
