Caravan Club - Caravanner of the Year

What a farce, I can't believe that they could only select those six couples, out off all their membership, to represent Caravanner s Big Cry

Agreed! But we knew it would be - the TV company is going to select all the laughable bits for the "entertainment". CC made a big mistake there, exposed itself to ridicule. What a bunch of Censored

I saw the bit about the guy and his mum failing to reverse on googlebox Did nothing to alter my opinion of letting complete idiots tow such large objects on our roads. At work

What a laugh, two good episodes of comedy, eccentricity at its best Laughing It was an OTT farce, the title depicted it to be a serious event but the BBC wanted a comedy of errors and they got it. Won't affect me or what others think of me and my chosen method of holidaying.
I'm not interested in the bad publicity or what they could have portrayed, I caravan for myself and don't give a toss what others think.

The only saving grace was that Simon Cowell wasn't involved. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
Tricia's - 2006 Royal Blue Beetle Cabriolet Auto
Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black
Ours - 2007 White Bailey Pageant Champagne

I watched this, and was captivated, it was such a load of b0ll@x, its was funny

I dont own a van, though until recently did own a camper

I dont thing the Caravan community were reflected very well in this program.
Surley, they all cant be either very old, nerdy, or just plain live with my mum weird - I have meet loads of normal interesting (sometimes young) people with vans

It was so bad it was good. The sight of the chairman of the Caravan Club ripping the back off his van had me in stitches. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

one of the most abysmal TV programs ever. Grenville Chamberlain, Chairman of the club should be totally ashamed of himself ripping the PI** out of his paying members and making a complete fool out of himself as well and bring other caravan owners down to his level.
I hope he is ashamed and steps down !
On the caravan club forum there was a 1000 posts + after the first airing, stating how it was one of the most cringe-worthy programs ever ! Jaguar x-type sport gone
Jaguar x-type 2.2d sport one of my best cars ever sadly gone
Freelander 2 GS auto 2008 most unreliable ever ! gladly gone
Freelander 2 GS manual 2013 only time will tell !

It was certainly entertaining, all for the wrong reasons mind.
As some of you have said, why couldn't they have had younger folk on there as well.
I've had people on site today asking me if thats what I get up when caravaning!

If I'm honest, I am getting a bit fed up with the CC anyway.
Driving around a site for half an hour on a Friday evening trying to find a pitch does wind me up.
Shame you can't pre-book a pitch. Martyn

So bad I turned it off, whats the deal with driving at 10mph through a gap that may not be large enough. Stupid!

Of course you can now! That was shown in the first episode, as was washing 'van on pitch. Second episode gave new 10mph speed limit and penalty if you go slow! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!
