Will Disco 3 turbo work in an old 2007 FL2

Hi there,
I need to replace my turbo on my old 2007 FL2. (VIN Number removed)
I have been told I could fit a disco 3 turbo to my car. Has anyone tried this conversion?
Would a Disco 3 turbo be cheaper? Would a disco 3 turbo be readily available?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

What's wrong with your old one? I'm sure repairing it would be cheaper.

Hi All thanks for the replies.

Mike Bob, the turbo whines considerably, at first I thought it was the power steering pump but it is not.
After my last holiday trip in July I had to replace drive shafts and track an oil leak. I found the turbo was leaking oil and when checking the spindle there was a lot of play.
Also the car has no get up go especially pulling away from a traffic light.

Regards Thanks

You can recon/repair the current turbo easily...I did the one in mine when I rebuilt the engine.

You need to send it to a turbo specialist. Not something you can do without proper test equipment

Recon is the way to go. Let us know where you do it. I have not needed to recon my FL2, but who knows what the future holds.
