I have been told the PID1615G will fit well. However a factory special fascia surround will also have to be fitted to make it look right.

Andrew,

Can you tell me where the shop in Stones Corner that installs Sar Nav units is please? Do they also supply them? I would like to go and have a look.

Aftermarket Navigation

Just received my New Freelander but didnt order the Technology Pack as it was too expensive + Luxury car tax.
You can get a Polaris fitted for about A$1600 including reversing camera.
I went better still and fitted a Kenwood Touch Screen + remote Garmon Navigation sytem.
The garmon navigation is installed under the seat.
The touch sreen looks like the factory fit but it is more user friendly and is fitted with a reversing camera.
You could fit it yourself. Refer to the UK homepage from someone who has done it.
I had mine supplied and installed by xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx in Sydney
Phone Bruno xxxxxxxxxxxx He can supply a loan car for the day
Bruno seems to fit these for the Landrover dealers and has done many of them.
Not cheap but the best way to go.

Give Bruno a call to get a price.
Its about 1/3 of the price of the Technology Pack but more user friendly + reverse camera.
You can see the remote Navigation unit on the Garmon web site. I am not sure which model of Kenwood touch screen was fitted but it is a 7" screen and looks the "Real McKoy.
Bruno will lend you his loan car for the day. It is a lowered, bright blue Ford ute with spoiler and modified exhaust. Even though I love utes this one did not siute the image and I had to park it down the road so knowone would see me!

You can see the 7" Kenwood touch screens and remote Garmon Navigation unit on the Kenwood website.
The remote Garmon Navigation unit is also on the Garmon website.
You can also access technical and installation instructions.
Contact Kenwood in Sydney and they will recommend an installer who is familiar with Landrovers.
Or alternatively you can look in the Yellow pages for a company at xxxxxxxx in Sydney that specialises in "Auto Sound & Vision"

I would be interested to see how good the Polaris unit looks after fitting.
Has anyone got a photo?
