Alloy Locking Nut Key - Freelander 2010 S TD4e

Hi All,

My next project in the form of the Freelander arrived yesterday which suffered a fire in the back. Anyway one of the tyres is shredded and needed to get the spare on however cant locate the Locking Nut Key or the code for it.

Any chance any of you experts recognize the pattern so I can order a key from somewhere. Dont fancy ramming a socket in there if i can help it.

Thanks in advance

dealers will have a full set of adapters so wont be too much trouble to sort, i did read it was cheap to buy a full set of nuts than just the lock adapter when you find out what the code/colour it is Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

There was another long thread about this. To cut it short it would appear that the keys are supplied by McGard in Grmany and PabloC on this forum stated:
"Finally resolved. McGard replied saying they could identify the key from my photo. I had to supply images of the car registration document and drivers licence, name and address and pay 18.00 euros (inc p+p). A good service from McGard.
A huge thank you to all of you for your tips and advice, especially Moleshome, who signposted McGard in the first place."

Suggest you cheeck out the thread and McGard just in case I missed something. Thumbs Up 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto - Stornoway Grey - Hers (His, really)

They do say that generally you need the wheel lock ID but apart from a small ziplock bag with "BLUE" on it I cannot find an ID stamped on my key so I am also interested in finding out what do if I lost it. 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto - Stornoway Grey - Hers (His, really)

Thanks Guys for the input. good tip about MxGuard. Good to see some companies dont charge an arm and leg for some stuff!!

Anyway looks like I hit gold on eBay someone was selling a full set of wheel nuts with a set of locking nuts and key which on the face of it looks exactly like mine. Won it for £15 quid. Best Case Scenario it fits and does the trick. worse case Scenario it doesnt, ill end up breaking off the locking nut and using the new set that I bought.
