RSE Screens

Does anyone have any experience with removing RSE Screen from the head restraint that can advise me if there is a method to doing this. I'd rather do this myself rather than leave it up to the trimmer.
There also appears to be a black stud at the base of the head restraint, does this have any purpose?

I'm also after an electrical schematic for the RSE System and this system is not covered in the General wiring schematics for this generation of L359. Anyone have or point me in the right direction for this information be greatly appreciated Thumbs Up[/img] MY15

I done mine a while ago. The trimmer I used stated screens to be removed ideally therefore they cannot be held liable for any damage. From memory remove the plastic stud as this holds a large black metal forkspring mechanism which keeps the screen in.

Looking back at the orginal post I had these retrimmed in January 2014 and the car wasn't even built then. So I must have tackled this job in December 2013.

Once the black plastic stud has been removed put your hand in the crease which will allow you to separate the fabric and see the metal spring clip or at least feel it. It was a case of turning it anti clockwise and clockwise and then wriggingly it until loose and then remove it. Only then can the screens been removed just take your time I know it can been frustrating. For removing the screens itself they were still fitted really tight in place once everything had been removed. I simply put my hand down the crease again putting pressure behind the actual edges of the screens and working my way around them till the finally popped out.

Just tell the trimmer not to pack up to much leather where the screen sits as it will be a nightmare to get the screens back in.

Apologies if the above it a bit vague I just wish I documented it! I asked the same question as you but no one had any info to give me. Not many have fitted these genuine rear screens! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

No need to apologise mate, that's really helpful as I now have some idea of how the screens are held in, thank you! Thumbs Up

Unfortunately not mate, I've got other family commitments at the moment helping out on our farm at the weekends and after work on weekdays currently. Therefore this has taken a back seat for now Sad MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

You can remove the screen and the backing panel and also the wiring then remove the headrest pole that goes into the seat transfer all this into your headrest in the car and cut the new screen location out. No need to pay for anyone to do it. It's quite a easy job. I did my own as I didn't want to have the headrest re-trimmed as it wouldn't match my headrest in the car, It all look factory fit.. So happy with the job.

I eventually worked out how to get it out so thanks for that Ginna104 Thumbs Up
Now I can see the "insides" I'm thinking I like your idea of using the original head restraints and cutting the donor inners into the originals. Least this way it will be a 100% match.
I take it the inner core of both screen and without screen head restraint is the same? The screw mounts are there? So just remove excess foam and screw in screen housing?
Still on the hunt for electrical schematic if anyone knows where I can get my hand on!!!!! MY15

You need to use the metal bar part that goes into the seat from the screen headrest as they have already ground out the wire entrance and exit of it. It comes out easy just pulls away from the foam headrest inner and comes out of the screen cut out and then when you cut your headrest it fits straight into your headrest inner that's what I did anyway as I thought it was easier.
