bye bye freelander 2

I have had enough of niggling problems with my Freelander that today I went into a Vw dealer and bought a nice Tiguan 2 2013 se tech blue motion for £13,000 nice bronze colour and drives better then the Freelander better positive steering. I will be picking it up Monday lunch time.

Hmmmmmmm.....so VW wants Haldex oil change at 40k? Why not on FL2? Are LR being negligent or VW being over-cautious? 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

There is a lot of talk of oil changes for the Haldex, Bentley (a VW brand) use the same device and don't have an oil change?
I don't think negligence is the case, if LR could make a few quid from an oil change I am sure it would be in the service schedule.

No haldex fitted as went for the front wheel drive only version as more economical. Whistle

A 9 year old FL2 probably has every right to have the odd niggle and while I'm sure that even a 3 year old, FWD, Golf XL ought to be slightly more reliable, it doesn't really seem a fair comparison. If a FWD hatchback didn't steer better than a, 9 year old, properly capable, 4 wheel drive then VW have a problem!

So weve got a 2013 Tiguan 4motion 170 Tdi (And a Td5 Disco 2) Quite like it, veru reliable well built etc, just not very "involving" to drive. The old Disco has much more character, one of the reasons Im lurking on here!

The Tiguan was on our list if we didn't get the Freelander, but we wanted a proper auto. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
