How do I know which Haldex I have

How do I know which generation Haldex I have got a 2009 Commercial S. It has got the Haldex whine but would like to identify it as I do have a spare but I am not sure which one that is either.

Yes second question I have got 3 Freelanders 2's but the 3rd still works !!

Does a faulty Haldex cause a whine? Usually due to rear diff or Xfer box or even a wheel bearing or tyres (I have had all 4) 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

Your haldex is prabably a Gen 4. From 2008 I know that they put Gen4's.

More towards the end of 2008 Gen 4 was introduced.

There are several visual differences

you will have a haldex 4 with that age of car.

The Haldex doesnt usually whine. It will most likely be the diff. www.bellengineering.co.uk
