Two Issues - no AUX or 12v ... and 6-CD's?

Hi everyone! Hope my first post isn't too stupid... I'm used to much older cars with less technology and nice shiney things in them!

I've got two problems with my 2009 Freelander 2 :

1. I had it back to the dealer to fix a fault with the terrain response system. Since it came back neither of the 12v sockets in the centre handbrake console work any more, and the AUX connector is dead too. It's a huge chew on to take it back due to distance and time involved, so before I do, is it likely they've disconnected something by mistake under that central trim/handbrake surround? Do the 12v sockets and AUX run their wires on the same stretch of loom? Seems an odd combination of things to stop working but the proximity to the terrain response knob made me put 2+2 together...

2. I've got the premium headunit with bluetooth for the phone and in my user manual it says it should hold six CD's in a changer? Is that a stock feature of all premium headunits or was it an extra as mine doesn't seem to have it? Seems to be a one CD unit?

You feed them in one at a time and it holds them in positions 1-6. Can't remember exactly how now but I think you press 'load' or something. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

They've had the centre console out and forgot to reconnect aux power sockets when refitting. Are your radio buttons above or below cd slot? 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

My radio buttons are below the slot. Slot is at the top.

Same as this version:

Yeah tried following the manuals instructions and it won't do it. You can't get another CD in the slot.

I had this problem as well - the trick is to tell the system which slot you are loading into.

So after the first disc goes usually to slot 1, push button 2 - the system then gives an error message along the lines of no disc loaded, but when you inset a new disc it loads to slot 2, you continue this way until all 6 are loaded.

I found this by trial and error.

It just seems to ignore the button presses? Doesn't even register them being pushed.

You may well find it's only a single CD system - the front looks like a multi cd system because it has the keypad for the Phone. Best way to check is probably to look on Topix and see what it was built as. It confused me for a while too - even more confusing as the shadow of the 6 cds is on the lcd display.......and as it's Land Rover don't rely on what's in the manual!!! FL No 1 - 2012 (MY2011) XS manual Firenze Red - Gone
FL No 2 - 2012 (MY2012) XS manual Barolo Black - SWMBO wanted one too!
FL No 3 -2013 XS SD4 Auto Santorini Black
Series III SWB Hardtop - long gone
110 CSW V8 - long gone
Discovery 1 200Tdi - long gone

Have you pushed the "CD" button first?

i.e. "CD" --> "1" --> Load CD --> "2" --> Load CD etc. etc.

When you switch on your radio it should display the Land Rover logo on the right side of the display. If the unit is equipped with the 6-CD changer it should display 6 CD on the left side of the display.

It it doesn't show "6 CD" you have the single CD unit. Wink

Sitting in the back seats and looking at the rear of the console you should see a small panel at the bottom. Pop that out and then the rear panel should pull out. On the bottom left hand side is a largeish connector that they've probably forgotten to replace.

Might be an idea if you give the model of your FL2. It may be that you only have a single CD system not the 6 CD variant. 11 GS Bali Blue
07 GS FL2. Usually muddy. Gone
Numerous LRs since 1963

My stereo is the same and has a 6 cd unit above the cd text there should be 6 circles like this ( o o o o o o ) displayed. If your doesn't then you only have a single cd unit. When each cd is inserted the circle fills in black telling you that slot is full. I usually insert disk one then press number 2 the turn table selects that empty slot insert the disk same for the rest.
The turn table won't select or move until one disk is present.

The picture above is of a single cd unit notice the single O in the top right of the display a 6 cd unit shows 6 O in the display in a row.

6 cd unit below notice the display Thumbs Up

I have a 2011 GS and the radio looks like the one in the bottom picture but I don't think it's a multichanger. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

Both pictures are of the same model radio. If you have the six circles displayed on the screen then you have the multi changer. If only one as in the top image then you will only have the single cd unit. Thumbs Up
