England 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey
Abominable

Anyone had any experience of the Skoda Yeti? I think a nearly-new top of the range Laurin and Klement 2-litre auto looks like a good buy. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
Tricia's - 2006 Royal Blue Beetle Cabriolet Auto
Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black
Ours - 2007 White Bailey Pageant Champagne

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Santorini Black

Father in law has the 2wd petrol (don't know engine spec) and although he likes the car itself feels it is gutless. Lots and lots of praise for the 4wd versions though.

It is much smaller than the FL2. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Loire Blue

My son is an agronomist and was discussing cars recently with a group of colleagues who spend their time visiting farms and driving across fields and farm tracks. One had tried a Yeti and wasn't impressed with it's off road capabilities. On the other hand if you don't spend half you working life off road it might be OK. I met a guy the other day that does a lot of game shooting and he had a Dacia Duster and thought it was great value. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

I'm just at the thinking about it stage really. I don't take my Freely off road, except for sometimes having to tow the caravan on and off grass pitches. I only tow the van for three weeks or so per year these days. I don't want to give up the high driving position or the comforting stability of a 4*4 but to have one that does 40 rather than 30 to the gallon in normal driving is increasingly appealing since the pension isn't going up anytime soon! I love the ambience of the cabin in my HSE, with its leather, air con, etc and so any replacement would need similar fittings. The top-range Yeti is very nice indeed inside. Most of my driving is two-up only, or at most four, so smaller size would, in fact, probably be a good thing considering the sort of lanes I drive on down here - but it would need to take my golf bag and trolley!

Just to be girly - I like the look of the Yeti, especially in white! Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
Tricia's - 2006 Royal Blue Beetle Cabriolet Auto
Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black
Ours - 2007 White Bailey Pageant Champagne
