United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Santorini Black
CanBus Stereo

Ok, so I have read various threads over the last year or so about replacing the stock FL2 head unit (in my case the Alpine speaker one, think the midline) with something newer and nicer.

The consensus seems to be that although it is doable, because the system uses canbus for comms, you lose things like parking sensors unless you install loads of extra bits, as covered in a previous thread.

However, when I was looking at this product:
http://www.pioneer-car.eu/eur/products/avic-f70dab/specifications

I noted that it said it had CanBus and could under certain circumstances, display parking sensor stuff. I'm now wondering just how compatible this would be with my 2011 car....

Anyone know any more about this? Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

Actually just found the answer in one of the threads.

Can this thread be deleted? Learned to drive in 2011.

Here's the thread I found

Basically you need to buy an extra part. Seems easy enough. Shame the head unit is so expensive. Learned to drive in 2011.
