Nut I hope you have a better year ahead. All the best for 2016 Thumbs Up

Can't see the problem with it. When you see what gets fitted to all the other Land Rovers, including modern Disco 3/4's then why would / should this be any different ?
This is exactly what I had been thinking of when I was building a North Off Road Freelander F2RS. (google it !)

I'm really saddened by this response.

Adding one of these in the UK is all so unnecessary and pointless and does nothing to help the reputation of 4x4 drivers Sad

Didn't realise 4x4 drivers have a bad reputation tbh ? Up here we need Land Rovers! Regarding the A Bar we've got a farm with livestock and I do use my car on the farm at times! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

To add to the debate the bar proposed MAY be better for pedestrians. Maybe legs more likely broken but that is debatable. However at higher speeds the pedestrians head more likely to hit softer bonnet rather than the hard edge of screen or wipers. Look at disco sport LR had to fit scuttle airbag to achieve 5* rating. They could have made it longer to achieve same rating but would make it heavier and worse fuel and insurance etc.
As for the crumple zone then if low speed probably same damage to crush cans and unless very minor would damage bumper too. FL2 11 S Black 😂

As stated in the original post the bar was made and tested to meet EU regulations. It was made by the same company who supply the genuine bars to Land Rover. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

DoT says so long as they are E marked, they are legal. Thats fine by me. I'd have no qualms about fitting one like LR NUTS to my F2, esp as it would protect my vehicle, and probably prevent some damage in low speed contacts..

I work in a city center, and my journey in to and out from work is a nightmare with pedal cyclists who are happy to jump red lights, come at you the wrong way down one way streets, and suddenly appear in front of you when they launch themselves off a pavement to squeeze into a gap that isn't there.

One of these fitted to my F2 would soon sort them out. Whistle

.

Not the same thing at all I'm afraid. The Freelander 1 as in top pic were made in either hard plastic or
foam depending on which part number. I've had both. The one on the F2 is abs plastic. They cannot be compared to metal A or bull bars. Also they are cosmetic only and provide no function what so ever. Called a protector bar, but protects nothing. You even have to drill holes in the bumper to fit them so defeats the object of protecting the bumper when you damage the original bumper to fit them.
Here's a plastic one on my Freelander 1, modified to accommodate the bonnet light pod.
