it could be the firmware on either the blutooth in the car or the phone, unfortuantley unless your car is the right firmware and the phone is on LR list with the correct firmware number there is little you can do

Either way, it won't be cheap, back in 2006/7 i successfully got my old dealer to fix it, when my new FL2 wouldn't connect to the nokia phone i had (technically my mums as her firmware was the older tried & tested version) but after a day or two of trying to get it working, using my mums phone for these days, they upgraded the software and funnily enough my phone worked also and this was a launch model in warranty so luckily i got it FOC as LR was saying it should have worked, if not 2 days messing about a LR Service rates would have been more expensive than having a parrot installed Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Santorini Black

I've had 2 Nokia's (Windows phone version I assume you're using) and both connected to my 2011 fine. Not tried on a 2007 though but I can confirm Nokia Windows phones can connect to at least some Freelanders. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
