Auto gear knob problem

Dan, I've got a problem with my 2008 FL2 HSE AUTO 2.2 TD. The gear selector knob has a plastic bar facing the front of the car. This needs pressing to get the selector from Park to Reverse, but my plastic bar seems to click and feels like it isn't properly seated within the gear knob. On a few occasions I was stuck while I struggled to depress the bar and move the selector. This only started happening a couple of days ago but I've found a number of other forum members have had similar problems. I suspect the springs within the gear knob have broken.

Are you able to source a replacement gear knob? I'd be very grateful if you're able to supply this. Do you have company website?

Many thanks,

Chris Bonner

It's a 10 min job only tools needed is something to snip the very small tie wrap, gently prize off the chrome surround and turn it upside down the best you can push down the white plastic collor and snip off the tie wrap the do the reverse to fit it.

Just make sure you don't smack yourself in the face getting it off it does take some effort.

If you push down the white plastic collar it comes away with no effort it is that what holds things in place.
