2010 HSE 235/55/19 - Insurance update

Hi all

Not sure if this has been covered before or not. I picked up my new FL2 2 weeks back. Anyway on the front are some budget tyres and on the back are some pretty low Cross Contacts.

So I have 235/55/19 wheels on the car. I have found some general grabber AT on mytires.co.uk

So how are the general grabbers for daily use, mainly road use but a bit of green laning? What's the road noise like on them?

I am also concerned about massive effects on fuel economy.

Thanks

No issues at all, plenty of guys on here running them. Excellent tyre all round with no noticeable downsides for noise or economy
wear really well and you could get 50k out of them.

Hi Grabber AT's are fantastic, had a set fitted 2/3 months ago-superb- no noticeable increase in MPG consumption, no noticeable increase in road noise, well planted and great in all conditions (so far)
highly recommend these tyres.
See your In Chester? if you PM me I can point you in the right direction as to where to get a set.

Thanks Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

They are excellent tyres, but whilst I haven't noticed any increase in fuel consumption there is an increase in noise. Mine make a noise a bit like a dry wheel bearing, but it isn't because it disappears as soon as the winter tyres go on. It's a very minor downside, and wouldn't put me off buying them again.

interestingly

the General EU TYre labels has the 19" version as C in the Wet, and the 18" version as F in the wet.
It may explain why I found the 18" ones to be terrible on damp roads, so much so I removed and sold them.
Off road, in the mud, or in water they were great, if not a little noisy.

Ah a well timed thread, I was looking into this too and good to hear some positive reviews!

Has anyone tried the 255/55 R19? It seems like it should fit quite easily just wondering if there are any potential issues.
