Making the alarm come on fully with one pres on the remote..

Is it possible?

I read in the manual that one press just puts the door sensors on and two presses withing 3 seconds is needed to put the full system on including volumetric sensors etc..

Anyone know if you can swap this function around? I'd prefer to have the full alarm on most of the time but I am lazy and cant be bothered pressing the butting twice!

I know where you are coming from the current system is odd, why would you want to lock the car and not alarm it?
Ok so some people leave pets in the car so maybe one press to lock and alarm the car, two presses to turn the alarm off? or a system such as Audi's have where you press a button on the drivers door if you want the alarm off?

Recently Mrs G wanted to know how to lock the car while sat in the back if she wanted to park up to feed or change our son. So I sat in the back and press the fob button once, doors locked but no alarm, then to test I double pressed the button still no alarm despite foolish jumping up n down Confused . So I opened the rear door and the car made a vague beeping noise probably a new EU permitted alarm volume level ?

So verdict don't worry about the alarm as its near silent anyway Laughing

Doesn't double locking the car set the dealocks, so you can't open them from inside, so if someone smashed a window they still couldn't open the door.

Perhaps as you were inside the car it wouldn't set the alarm, or deadlocks, as a safety feature? Either that or your car's broke Confused

I had to pull the unlock latch under the door handle before I could get out , but your right it should have deadlocked? Maybe it did detect me in the car?
Does someone else want to try the same trick?

edit. I think one press just locks the car and sets the door open alarm, two presses deadlocks and volumetric alarms, hence I was able to get out?

So maybe in a low crime areas one press, in worse areas two presses? Rolling Eyes Why doesn't it just fully lock on one press Banging Head

I always go for 4 or 5 presses, but then again I think I may be paranoid, as I will also check out the window in the evening, to check the wing mirrors have folded in, so I know it's locked.

Then again, I'd hate to lose my lovely car, couldn't imagine it, I've only felt this strongly about my MGF, and this is the first car that I've been able to imagine owning for longer than 3 years, and I can imagine always wanting to own LRs from now on.

The last few cars I've had did the same, I presume it's a safety thing with having deadlocks, and makes unsetting the alarm easier.

I don't mind, but I can understand why some would.

after going to sleeping in my FL2 instead of a tent, I can vouch that the deadlocks do work, and you are unable to get out without the keyfob.

Also the keyfob is hard to reach when it drops under the drivers seat with the back seats down and the alarm sounding.

and the alarm will not be heard inside a tent, never mind a double glazed house Sad

Thank god its not just me ...... Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Its a good job those wing mirror fold or I'd be out at all times of the night checking .....

As for the noise of the alarm then on my car it is bloody loud, well it is if its the same as using the panic button on the remote. Certainly loud enough to wake up half the neighborhood !!

loud

My car alarm is loud too ...... as experienced during the Great Easter Egg robbery from my car when parked in Nottingham. I heard it very clearly at 6am, when asleep in a nearby house; shame I turned it off thinking it was a false alarm Rolling Eyes

Avtur I thought your FL2 was equipped with the old peoples package, where the alarm is 3 times louder, in the hope you might hear it without your hearing aid, and where the panic button is renamed car park locator as you are likely to have forgotten where you parked it? Laughing
