High pitch whistle on tickover

Have just arrived back from 3 weeks in France towing our caravan. After just 50 miles or so on the journey down, we noticed the car whistling loudly at high pitch on tickover (it goes of at 1500 revs). It stopped after arriving at holiday destination, but started again on the journey home, and was still doing it some hours after arrival home. Any suggestions?

Maybe one of the hoses/connectors to the turbo loose?

Could just be the turbo, or injectors, if it was particularly hot?

Also, I used to find that if I filled up my old diesels with supermarket diesel then the injectors would whistle, but a tank full of Shell or BP or the like and it'd go.

Have just got the car back after 3 days at the dealership. It has had a new manifold, as there was a vaccuum leak, causing the whistling. All sorted under warranty.
