Saved my families life

A few days ago, my family and I were traveling for vacation.
We were forced off the interstate by a driver that was not paying
attention to the road. I made a judgement call at 70mph to go for
a weed, grass, and stone covered median. We slid accross the median
to the tree line. We took a large tree limb to the headlight destroying
the head light, and a lot of cosmetic scratches. After skidding about 100 yards. We came to a safe stop.
The lr2 sucked up every bump, and with my driving skill and our
incredible vehical we get to enjoy our vacation. RC Gorst

You want to see what a Disco 4 can do at 70 mph on an artificial "3rd World", sorry to the PC Lefties on here "DEVELOPING WORLD" replicated track condition at Gaydon.....you'd be amazed at just how smooth and seamless the experience is, even if under hostile fire. Which given the state of the borders can only be a matter of time......(unless you live in Cambs. And view the world through rose-tinted Guardianista spectacles....) Laughing

Glad you made it through ok. Thumbs Up Foraging near Gaydon....

Glad to hear that the little Landie served you well when it mattered. I think the Freely2 is a great vehicle for surviving adverse conditions - and adverse idiot motorists. Its much lighter than a Disco and has far better primary and secondary safety than a Defender. All round great little wagon.

We have so many idiots on here also that say "Well I don't really need a permanent four wheel drive car..." Had the freelander been a two wheel drive model then the end result would not have been a pleasant one. In the dry tarmac you will always have superb grip Thumbs Up yet many will argue that it's not needed Rolling Eyes

It is nice to hear of incidents like this with no injuries! Any pictures of the battle scars Whistle

Sorry, but no dash cam footage. The couple pics i took don't do it justice. Silver vehical
the scratches don't show well. The headlight damage was the clear cover, and the internal
plastic adjustment and mounting hardware.
After vacation, will have to search the scrap yards for a total front left headlight assembly. RC Gorst

For those who speak English a 'median' is what the Americans call the central reservation. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?
