Is this a warranty claim?

I was cleaning the car a few days ago inside & out , while cleaning the seats leather cleaning I noticed a couple of wee cuts/nics in the front passenger seat. The car is a year old in September 1st & has only done 6500 miles. I don't know if you can make out that next to one of the cuts the leather is getting rough, I can only assume the cut is going to get worse. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement as I've had fords with leather seats for upto 5 yrs old and not a mark.

I think you will struggle to get them to pay out as the damage could be caused by "misuse" rather than a manufacturing fault. Land Rover leather is pretty woeful in my experience and shows wear far too easily. Favourite spot is the drivers seat bolster. If you are a little on the heavy side it compresses and eventually creases and rips.

Could be damaged by studs on denims.

Also both my seats had split bolsters at 27K miles, and my wife and myself are not overweight !!

Also I look after my leather seats so was a bit annoyed to say the least.

Yep, you will have difficulty proving you didnt do it yourself having a comb, phone, keys or something sharp sticking out your back pocket.

Got a knock back for the warranty claim on the seat Big Cry the good news is that a car interior repairman came into the garage to do work on another car. The guy had a look at it and could fix the seat for £45 Thumbs Up . It turns out the damage was my fault Big Cry I used the wrong type of leather cleaner on the seats , the type I used had silicon in it and that stops the leather from breathing , all in all a pretty good day. Do it now ! You'll find leather doesn't breath once it's made in to steaks and leather goods Whistle

I have a similar issue, were I popped my keys on the seat between my legs and scratched he leather with my nail , also notices a similar knick in the passenger seat, compared to my old HSE with Windsor leather this quality is very poor Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

because i don't want to sit with them in my pocket, throw them in the centre console to fall in the the bottle holder everytime i have a drink

Never had this issue with the old car, maybe because that had a convenient slot to put them in, called an ignition

Keyless start, is pointless when you don't have keyless entry as you always have to find somewhere to put them once in Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

i really don't think it will be the TW cleaner, i am sure they will have tested the product on numberous leathers, unlike some pound shop brands

i have cleaned mine today and each mark looks like it has been caught with something, like a nail or a dogs claw

i use this stuff, Raceglaze Balm and never had anything come away from the leather other than dirt
