Lol, I think there's a place and time for everything but when it comes to major items I'd rather go OE regardless of cost! Some of the copy stuff is ok you just have to know where and when it's appropriate to use it!
Sidesteps for me, nah!
Thxs Sidetops Thumbs Up , it was a very researched purchase and definately I was not a fan of the DS unfortunately, or the Evoque!
As the Freelander has spawned not only the Evoque, DS and soon to be released Evoque Cabrio, the Freelander 2 in the future will be looked upon as a "significant" model, which is why I wanted to go ahead and purchase one of the last! Something all us FL2 owners should remember! MY15

OE all the way - except possibly wiper blades, my current FL2 and previous prefers Bosch. Though my first one insisted on OE.

I have a Breitling and many people ask me if its real. I dont care what people think, but usually have to take it off to prove it is indeed real! (get my point?)

If you do have to pay twice, you'd be a mug for replacing duff material with duff material. Not to mention the labour element. Far better to do the job properly with proper equipment first time round, surely? Foraging near Gaydon....

You do have a point there Badger1970, and of course you are quite correct really. I'm just quite tight with my money Laughing

I work at a Ford dealership, so fitting isn't too much of an issue. One of the guys in the workshop said he will do it for about 40 quid

Here we are. Side steps fitted today.

These are the OE style ones. Perfect fit, although the chap said they were a bit fiddly to get on straight and flush.

Very pleased, and I think they look great! Thank you for recommending the OE Style items, I've saved over £500 here over the OE items, I believe there is no noticeable difference, except with my bank balance Mr. Green
