slow to fire

Morning all, i have noticed (actually swmbo) has noticed over the past week the old girl has been a little slow to fire, sunday 13oc key in pressed button and cranks normally just cranks for 3-5 seconds before firing. just seems a little odd, used to fire instantly,

28k miles, serviced 9 months ago, always fit new fuel filter.

does a lot of town trips 3-4 miles a day no long runs.

my thoughts are,

A, DPF ISSUE,
B, glow plugs, (too warm for them)
c injectors, once started runs fine, and when hot it starts ok.

d fuel issues,

any ideas would be appreciated. not tried to read the codes yet. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar

Does sound like a fuel issue, that has become worst.
As suggested fuel pressure, fuel pump would be my 1st guess.
Hopefully recovery will diagnose an easy fix fault.

Good Luck

George you could be right, but your biased.

It would appear I put petrol in the little darling, I put £10 just to get us through this week till we Went on holiday, it would appear to be a 50/50 mix petrol diesel,

My indie's trying to sort but couldn't get parts, so I phoned duckworths parts available, and a healthy discount for being a forum member.

I am gutted.

I'm hoping for an easy fix but expecting the worst. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar

We've all done it (but some won't admit it). Can't they just drain the tank and put some diesel in? Worked for me (but on a FL1). Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Currently fuel tank and filter bypassed, clean diesel from new source direct to pump and it is alive, it runs and all read outs are within parameters fuel pressure etc. so more clean diesel tomorrow and a fuel additive forte diesel conditioner and see how we go. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar
