Has anyone used Incontrol Landrover Application(iphone) for MY13 models? Has anyone installed the Incontrol hardware?

I don't think the App is compatable with the Gen II Touchscreen System in the FL2!

I haven't tried but after bit of research InControl is yet to be introduced in Australia. https://incontrol.landrover.com/jlr-portal-owner-web/select. Moreover the InControl hardware needs to be installed in FL2 to be compatible with iPhone or Android.

I assume it's more of a software issue rather than hardware if you have the Meridian Touch Screen system. I think I read somewhere that you will be able to use this app in the Discovery Sport as long as you have the Merridian system.
As you say I don't think it's up and running in AU yet!
As long as you have hi-line or Premium Meridian System in the FL2 I don't see why the software couldn't be adopted but that's not my specialty and I'm sure someone on here will work it out eventually one way or the other. LR or dealers won't assist as otherwise no one would need to upgrade to a new vehicle and why I usually always question a dealers answer! MY15

This link shows the Incontrol app running on a 2015 Evoque which has the exact same system so I'm guessing if you can get it to work on the Evoque then it's just a case of having correct application files in the CCF. MY15

Yeah, I think it's a bit early for this app yet as there's really nothing on it that you can't do on our systems already as long as you have Merridian and Nav. It's an LR option (of course) so I don't think it's much other than an operating system file. Someone will come along and work it out, please, hopefully  MY15

No doubt this topic will be of some interest in the future re retrofitted so what I've found out sofar is that it requires a dedicated USB input/socket which the fl2 doesn't have but I can report back that the one in my centre console is mounted on a removable plate which has blank space on it so possibly the Evoque or another LR has exact same fitting but with extra USB connection. Next step is where the wiring goes from there!
I'm guessing there be some hardware, module ?
And to answer my question above, Yes the Evoque does have the exact same mounting plate for the Power, Aux, USB and Incontrol Apps USB so should be a straight swap over! MY15

I have gone through the FAQ and it mentions "only possible to have InControl on your vehicle if it is selected when the vehicle is ordered, as the hardware is fitted at the factory. Future options are being explored".

Most of the brand other than LR are using a system called MirrorLink.

From what I've read there's a few levels of access to vehicle controls and at this stage most people who have commented say it has little use currently.
Wether the FL2 system will allow basic access in the future will be interesting but I don't really see myself really needing more access to my smartphone via the touch screen than I already have, Infact with out system you still have the ability to interact with your smartphone whereas with Incontrol disables your phone whilst active.
As far as being able to set environmental controls and finding my car in a car park, well, nice but really? MY15

I thought I'd update this thread as some new information has come to light.
A forum member on a sister site, Jaguar, has retrofitted the Gen 2.1 touchscreen system to his Jaguar and managed to get the In-Control App enabled. So this means all of us with this system in our Freelander 2's can also.
The hurdle is sourcing the hardware which as I understand it at the moment is the USB port (directly from Evoque, same plate), wiring and In-control apps Module.
Cambo may have some more info but I will be following this as I have an interest. MY15

Well by chance we actually stumbled across this when scanning the other vehicle the other day
"Connect and View" is the CCF field for enabling LR InControl Apps which we will try and enable in my car shortly.
I'm somewhat excited at the process of connecting the CAV Module and future proofing on my Infotainment system.
Have already located a CAV module but as this is still rather new technology, it's rather expensive so will probably wait until prices become a bit more reasonable. The functionality of the LR Incontrol Apps platform is still in its infancy.
Once we enable InControl Apps I'll start a retrofit topic to keep you all updated progress. MY15

Sourcing a CAV module is the easy part.
Enabling the InControl platform is the tricky one atm. If we can get the InControl platform to enable then it's rather straight forward.

Decided to have a look through my "E Mode" menu tonight as it's logical that the InControl Apps platform would have an application listed and it's "status".
Not actually named as such but "Accessory Phone" and "Uninitialised" fits the description as the CAV module is a phone communications module.
All other phone applications are either active or for the RSE which currently I have not activated.
This sort of supports that the firmware exists. Also that the LR Microcat lists the Connect and View module for Gen 2.1 HDD which also suggests that all Gen 2.1 HDD heads units would have the InControl platform.
