Yes, there have beenpost before about this. It's very fiddly to put back together again and is a design fault. I recall gently prizing out the vertical vent flaps and fitting the silver slider back with the black plastic clip behind and then teasing it back into position. It's areal b Censored r and not for fat-fingers. Good luck.

When I bought my car it was missing the T clip - £44 +VAT to replace the vent. I cannot bring myself to pay that so if anybody has a spare black clip I would be happy to pay or make a donation to the site. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

the same happened to me.

I improvised.

Using standard electrical wire ( lighting / ring main 2.5mm works best )
I cut a length approx 8" long with a bend / loop at one.
Stuck the silver slider to it with blue tack, pushed in in between the slats and pulled it back in place.

Simple.
took 10 minutes thinking, and 2 minutes to resolve Thumbs Up

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but in case anyone finds this and still needs them I have 3d designed the air vent adjuster for the freelander 2 and 3d printed replacements. They have been sent to someone with a freelander 2 and if they work correctly I can sell these for much cheaper than the going rate of the originals (£25 pre-owned on ebay at time of writing this). see pics below:

note: Since this photo I have changed the design a lot to look much more like the original, this is the only good pic I have of them at the moment, so you get the idea Smile

Thanks!

Thought I would give an update on this, just had the FL2 owner test my second version and it works, however need to be some final tweaks to the design before it's ready so will have this ready by next week Smile

Great to see 3D printing coming to the rescue with fiddly parts like this you just can't get. Trying to think of what other parts we could use!

Yes please have a think, anyone with any ideas would be happy to hear them!

I've 3d replicated, center caps for the fiesta XR2 & side skirt caps for the ford escort s1 turbo
im also nearly finished designing the headlight surrounds for the fiesta XR2 just to give you some ideas!

Quick update, sorry for the delay, was a bit of a long process of trial and error but I think I've finally come up with the right design and material for these to work correctly! Sending out a set to a FL2 owner so will likely be selling 3d printed air vent adjusters for the FL2 by next week Smile will keep you guys update on here... see pics below:

As you can see these just push onto the vent, bit of a different design to the original adjusters but better in my opinion!
